Joel is such a broken man that when he got the chance to be a father again he took it. Not giving a damn about the consequences. But when the truth came out the only thing that changed was that he was honest with her and more patient. He tried helping her from time to time as seen in the clip sure but it was just fatherly instinct more than standard invasion. He loved her and even after everything he never regretted what he did. I don’t get sad from games. I don’t cry to movies or games when something sad happens. But both the last of us 1 and especially 2 have made me cry. Seeing Joel die and then seeing all these scenes of him afterwards was just so painful. Knowing the truth and seeing it finally come to light. And seeing where they stood before his death. Did he deserve to die? Truth be told yeah he did. For the actions he committed he absolutely deserved it. But in the end he was a rather changed man. He loved his new family. Cherished his new friends and lived in relative peace for the first time in years. He knew it wouldn’t be forever and he accepted it in the end.

Ya know putting Joel just being an amazing and very realistic character, he was a fucking monster in combat like wtf. He was never ex military and he had a construction job (I believe my apologies memory kinda foggy on that) and yet 20 years into the apocalypse not only was he still kicking he was kicking major ass and definitely had a triple digit kill count. This man was just built fucking different.

Ellies stepfather but when he was dead Ellie was Ellie Williams to Ellie Miller. Joel is the best character in the whole series and he found a girl named Ellie who was 14 but after he lost Sarah his wife he started to kill zombies at that he was 32 and when he turned 52 his kill was 500 I played that game after he dies😪😔 RIP Joel Miller
